Study of Counterpoint and Strata

Subject 4.1 approaches the same passage discussed in the following subject (m. 305 – 313) from the point of view of contrapuntal strata. The aim of this subject is to isolate each layer that comprises this section for an in-depth study of their characteristics and  timbral features.

This dissection allows us to scrutinize each stratum in isolation and subsequently hear it in combination with the other layers that comprise the passage.
