Decca Tree, Ex. E, Six Violinists

TOR / ODESSA Montreal / Subject 1 / Anatomy of a Mix / Decca Tree / Example E

In her notes for this excerpt, the Tonmeister writes "start[ing] to sound like a section." The Decca Tree system captures a sound that's closest to what she was hearing in the hall. At this distance, and with a balance of both direct and room-reflected sound, six performers seems to be the threshold for a violin section itself sounding like a whole source rather than a collection of individual players.
