This Research Alive presentation features the dynamic presenter-performer duo of Nicole Biamonte and Edward Klorman - both music theory professors here at the Schulich School of Music. They'll be discussing the challenge of how performers can effectively translate a written score into a musical dialogue. In this presentation the audience will experience in real time how the analysis of a musical score can enrich a performance, explored through a movement of Brahms' first clarinet sonata, performed live by Edward and Nicole on viola and piano. Filmed November 22, 2018 in Tanna Schulich Hall, Elizabeth Wirth Music Building.
